RANDOLPH COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Illinois State Police say two people died Friday, August 30 after a crash around 1:23 p.m. on IL Route 4 at Schuline Road.

According to ISP, a 2006 Chevy Impala driven by Richard F. Buch, 63, of Red Bud, Ill. was going eastbound on Schuline Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at IL Rt. 4.

Police say Buch hit a 2002 Dodge Dakota on the passenger-side door, then continued on and hit a telephone pole.

Kenneth R. Dammermann, 50, of Ava, Ill. was driving the Dakota. He and his passenger, Merlin J. Mast, 36, of Campbell Hill, Ill were not seriously injured.

According to police, Buch and his passenger, Connie S. Buch, 67, also of Red Bud, died from their injuries.

They say the occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts.
