Man facing DUI charges after car rear-ends motorcycle in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) - A 20-year-old Illinois man is facing DUI charges after his car rear-ended a motorcycle late Saturday in Saline County.

Evan L. Edwards, 20, of Stonefort, Illinois is facing charges of driving under the influence of drugs and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

According to Illinois State Police, it happened shortly before 11:45 p.m. at Commercial and Sloan Street in Harrisburg.

Troopers say Robin S. Seets, 49, of Tucson, Arizona was southbound on his motorcycle on Commercial Street and had slowed down right before the intersection at Sloan Street.

Edwards was driving southbound behind Seets. Troopers say Edwards failed to slow down and his car hit the rear of Seet's motorcycle.

Seets was thrown from the motorcycle and was taken to Harrisburg Medical Center with serious injuries.

ISP was assisted at the scene by the Harrisburg Police Department and Saline County EMS.
