CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of shots fired into a home on Route BB early Sunday afternoon.

A resident says his house was hit by gunfire. He says one bullet went through the front of his house, through the wall and into a recliner and another bullet went through his front door.

According to Lt. David James with the sheriff's office, one person was taken custody for unlawful use of a weapon. That person was reportedly shooting a gun nearby.

No injuries were reported, although children were playing in the house at the time.

Lt. James says this does not appear to be intentional act.
