LSU jumps three spots in AP Top 25 Poll

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

After a convincing 37-27 victory over TCU, the LSU Tigers have moved up to No. 9 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll.

Against the Horned Frogs, LSU ran the ball for 197 yards compared to TCU's 114 yards. Zach Mettenberger threw for 251 yards, while the combo of Casey Pachall and Trevone Boykin threw for only 145 yards.

The Tigers had 26 first downs to TCU's 13 first downs and won the time of possession battle 36:01 to 23:59.

LSU hosts UAB Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. The home opener kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on ESPNU.

    Jeremy Johnson passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the first half and Nick Marshall returned from suspension with a 19-yard scoring run to lift No. 6 Auburn to a 45-21 opening victory over Arkansas on Saturday.
