CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

This week's cook comes from within the KFVS ranks. As a former sports reporter/anchor, assignment manager john Broeckling is an avid sports watcher. With regular season football now in full swing - he's sharing one of his favorite football snacks. This taco salad is quick, easy and fun for your game-day guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 medium bag nacho cheese Doritos
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 2 cups shredded cheese

Directions:

Brown and drain ground beef. Mix in taco seasoning according to package directions.

Crush Doritos in the bag, and dump contents into a large bowl. Add beef, shredded lettuce and cheese mixing well between each addition.

Turn on the game and serve!

John’s tip: you may also want to add some of your favorite ingredients like olives, jalapeños or salsa to make the taco salad your own.
