Men take off with AC Units, Arrested

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two men have been arrested after an off-duty deputy spotted a truck pull out of a church parking lot hauling two air conditioning units.

Anthony Donazio and Bobby Mangrum both of Mulkeytown, were charged with felony theft over $500 from the Bethel Community Church in Franklin County.

"They noticed he was following them, he wasn't in a squad car he was in his personal vehicle and they attempted to get away from him, but he was able to keep up with him enough while he called the office an alert on duty officers," says Sheriff Jones.

Sheriff Don Jones says the church was one of several in both Franklin and Williamson counties targeted by air conditioning unit thieves over the past few years.
