Police say dad brought guns to Springfield Township school

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

Springfield Twp. Police Officers arrest a 48-year-old father for allegedly having two loaded handguns on school property Thursday morning.

Officers were called to Young Elementary School around 8:40 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute over a child custody issue. This happened while the child was being dropped off at school.

During the investigation, police discovered that Craig Alan Jenkins had two loaded handguns in his vehicle.

Jenkins is charged with the illegal conveyance of a weapon on school grounds, a felony of the fifth degree, and is currently being held in the Summit County Jail.

Officers say there is currently no evidence to support that the weapons were ever brought into the school building or that there were any threats made involving the weapons.
