HERRIN, IL (KFVS) -

A judge gave the green light for a research team to start looking for graves buried nearly a century ago in the Herrin Cemetery.

Local author Scott Doody was trying to find the grave of a WWI veteran Antonio Molkovich. He is one of the 16 miners massacred in 1922.

But the sexton at the time couldn't tell him where the graves were actually located.

Thanks to that judge's ruling, that could soon change.
