5 foot tall marijuana plants found in farmer's field

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A New Madrid County farmer contacted the New Madrid Sheriff’s Department on Thursday about possible marijuana plants in his field on County Road 707.

The farmer told police he found plants while harvesting his corn.

The plants were about five feet tall and were found 30 feet into the corn field, according to the sheriff’s department.

The plants were taken to the sheriff’s department to be destroyed.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens asks if anyone has any information about the plants or sees any suspicious activity on the county roads, please contact the New Madrid Sheriff’s Department.
