SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Paula Deen made her first appearance in Savannah since a federal judge signed a motion to dismiss a sexual harassment and workplace discrimination lawsuit against Deen last month.

She visited with excited fans at the Lady & Sons to support a book signing for her son Jamie Deen, who debuted his cookbook "Jamie Deen's Good Food".

"Yes, I'm back. Well actually, [I] never went anywhere. I just took a little breather," Deen told WTOC's Don Logana.

Deen and her husband, Michael, greeted fans and shared stories.

Over the weekend, Deen made her first public appearance in three months in Houston with both Jamie and Bobby Deen.

"Mama is so excited to go out and get to see people again. It's who she is and what she loves to do. The reception is exactly what I expected. The tremendous love and support we felt all this summer ... people were able to voice that, and Mom was able to enjoy it," Jamie Deen said.

Deen's longtime friend and employee 'Jellyroll' Ineta Jones, who created the Lady & Sons ho cakes and biscuits, was happy to see her.

"I'm glad she is coming back that is why I am here, so I can see her," she said.

Jones hadn't seen Deen in a few months. She joined the rest of the fans to say hello to her friend.

Deen may be back, but admits the break may have been a blessing in disguise after a long, hard summer. She said she is reconnecting with her business again.

"I've been on the road for so long. So it has been wonderful to reconnect with my team, and everything that is going on within my business," she said.
