TALLASSEE, AL (WSFA) -

The Tallassee Police Department says it has arrested and charged a suspect with enticement of a child.

Tallassee police say 24-year-old Randy Travis Navarre was arrested late Thursday evening and charged with electronic solicitation of a child.

Wednesday, the mother of the child reported to police she discovered messages from Navarre of a "sexual nature" on her 15-year-old daughter's cell phone.

Police issued a search warrant on Thursday where they found evidence that led them to arrest Navarre.

Navarre was transported to the Tallassee City Jail where he spent the night. He was to be transferred to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office Friday where bond would ultimately be set.
