Route 202 reopen after motorcycle crash

SOUTH HADLEY, MA (WSHM) -

A motorcycle crash closed down a section of Route 202 in South Hadley for several hours Tuesday night. The road way opened shortly after 10:00 p.m.

According to the Granby police, an officer noticed a motorcyclist speeding down West State Street in Granby.

Police say an officer started pursuing him with his siren and lights on, but the motorcyclist kept driving towards South Hadley on Route 202.

The motorcyclist crashed in South Hadley more than a mile from the town line.

Police reconstruction crews were on-scene for hours. A black car was seen being towed away from the scene as well.

Police would not confirm the extent of the injuries of the motorcyclist or other driver.
