Showers and thunderstorms move through East Texas

Posted: Updated:
TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

We are continuing to monitor showers and thunderstorms moving through East Texas.

We are not expecting much in the way of severe weather, but some gusty winds, locally heavy rain and lightning cannot be ruled out.

Overnight skies will be mostly cloudy with these showers and thunderstorms will continue. Lows will drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Sunday the showers and thunderstorms will linger for most of us, especially in our southeastern counties. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 80s. Some rain showers also could linger into Monday and Tuesday, but the chances get smaller with each day.

By the time all is said and done, most areas will get between 1 and 1.5 inches of good rain, but a few select locations could get more than 2 inches.
