Georgia emerges from the dark depths of a bye week and heads across I-20 to take on South Carolina. Redheaded stepchildren have gotten better treatment than the Bulldogs in their last two trips to Columbia.

It's still much too early to talk about who will be in the playoff at the end of the year, but it looks safe to say the Big 10 won't be represented.

Texas A&M was a surprising team in its first game, but that may not be such a good thing. On the other hand, an Alabama squad that was just blah is likely headed in a more positive direction.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Johnny Manziel accounted for 320 total yards of offense and threw two touchdown passes to Mike Evans as No. 10 Texas A&M pulled away for a 45-33 win over Arkansas on Saturday night.

The game quickly turned into a shootout between the two teams, with a combined 24 points scored in the first quarter and 44 points by halftime. Texas A&M tallied 523 total yards of offense and Arkansas put up 483 total yards of its own in the game, as each team ran more than 65 plays offensively.

Manziel, who totaled 557 yards of offense in a win over the Razorbacks last season, was 23-of-30 passing for 261 yards and he rushed for 59 yards for the Aggies (4-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference).

Trey Williams had 83 yards rushing to lead Texas A&M, which finished with 262 yards rushing on 44 carries. Deshazor Everett had a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The win is the Aggies' ninth straight on the road.

Quarterback Brandon Allen returned from a shoulder injury for Arkansas (3-2, 0-1), finishing 17-of-36 passing for 282 yards and two touchdowns.

In his SEC debut, Alex Collins recorded his fourth 100-yard game of the season after rushing for 123 yards on just 14 carries, leaving him just one short of tying the Arkansas freshman record for 100-yard rushing games in a season (five, Darren McFadden).

Fellow freshman Hunter Henry had a career-high 109 yards receiving on four catches, including a career-long reception of 52 yards.

Dylan Thompson threw for three touchdowns and No. 24 South Carolina's maligned defense stood strong on a fourth-quarter goal line stand to topple No. 6 Georgia 38-35 on Saturday night.
No. 24 South Carolina's defense showed it's not nearly as bad as it looked two weeks ago - and maybe that No. 6 Georgia isn't the runaway favorite in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division.

Georgia can establish itself as a top-tier beast if it gets by South Carolina this weekend - and USC would drop to 0-2 in the league with a loss. Tennessee travels to Oklahoma, where Coach Bob Stoops doesn't believe the SEC is all-powerful.
