Big E sets all-time attendance record

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

With one day left of the 2013 Big E, the fair is ready to be remembered as a record breaking good time.

Officials announced that a new all-time attendance record was set on Saturday, as 1,376,796 people walked through the gates this year.

That breaks the record that was set just last year of 1,365,896.

Officials said the record breaking number was brought about by Saturday's record breaking one-day attendance of 160,872.

Sunday marks the final day of the Big E, headlined by a performance from The Beach Boys.

Gates open at 8 a.m., with most exhibits and buildings opening at 10 a.m.
