LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man was arrested for stealing candy from a school and money from a 75-year-old man.

According to a Louisville Metro Police Department report, on September 10, Scott Sublett, 31, went over to someone's home and asked for money for a hotel room. The 75-year-old victim said no, took medication and went to sleep. According to the victim, when he awoke, his wallet and $500 were missing.

On September 16, police said Sublett broke into Whitfield Academy. The cleaning crew said they saw Sublett hiding under a desk. He had apparently eaten candy and snacks that belonged to the school before he fled.

After being shown a photo pack, the witness positively identified Sublett. Police arrested Sublett on October 3 and he provided a taped statement admitting to both cases.

Sublett is being charged with third degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
