LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A series of car break-ins in east Louisville has police issuing a warning to drivers.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, more than 10 vehicles were broken into between October 2 and Friday morning in the Polo Fields and English Station subdivisions. Police said nothing was taken in many of the break-ins, but the vehicles were ransacked as if the person or persons responsible for the crimes were looking for something in particular.

The break-ins occurred on Mallet Hill Drive, Curry Branch, Willoughby Court, Carabiner Way, Summit Vista Way and Bircham Road.

Police are warning drivers about the importance of locking their vehicles and security valuables inside their homes.

Anyone with information about the break-ins should call the Louisville Metro Police Department's 8th Division at 502-574-2258.
