1 killed in McCracken County motorcycle crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

One person was killed Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash in McCracken County.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, around 9:30 deputies responded to the 6500 block of New Hope Church Road for the crash.

It was discovered that 18-year-old Kaleb W. Thompson of Paducah was driving his motorcycle west on New Hope Road when he failed to make a curve in the road.

The motorcycle then laid on its side and slid until hitting a utility pole a few feet off the road.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary cause of death was determined by the McCracken County Coroner's Office to be blunt force trauma to the body.

Thompson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The road was closed for around an hour and a half during the investigation.
