CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Masons held a MoCHIP event at the Scott City Fire Department on Main Street on Saturday.

Dozens of children came out today in Scott City for an event created to help save their life.

MOCHIP, or Missouri Child Identification Program is designed to help families if their children ever go missing, or are abducted.

Parents or guardians can walk away from the free event with a disc in hand with their child's information, digital pictures, fingerprints, dental impressions and identification cards.

If a child disappears this is the information police would immediately need.

According to MOCHIP, they have seen well over 100,000 kids come out to get their identity saved for them while eight of those children in Missouri have been found as a result of MOCHIP.

Organizers say not to worry about your child's information floating around, as it is all immediately wiped clean.
