GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Cunningham, Ky. man accused of assaulting his girlfriend was arrested Monday in Carlisle County.

Jason Drake, 33, was wanted by the Graves County Sheriff's Office for charges of unlawful imprisonment 1st degree, fleeing and evading 1st degree, and several drug related charges.

Several calls came in to Carlisle County E-911 Monday around 10:15 a.m. that Drake and a female were spotted walking in the Bardwell area.

Then, someone called police and said someone fitting Drake's description was walking on US Hwy. 62 in the Cunningham area.

Drake was arrested and turned over to the Graves County Sheriffs Office.

On Friday, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Lowes, Ky. area to a report of an assault on a female.

According to the sheriff's office, Jason Drake’s girlfriend had called a family member and told them that he had been assaulting her over the past few days, and that he was holding her against her will.

A family member then called law enforcement but was unable to give an exact location where Drake was staying.

Officers then went the area looking for Drake who was reported to have been in a 1979 green and white Ford pickup.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., an officer saw Drake pull into the Lowes Store in his truck. As the two deputies tried to stop Drake on Pennebaker Street in Lowes, Drake fled in the vehicle with his girlfriend.

The pursuit went from Pennebaker Street to Moores Street where Drake cut across a field. The pursuit continued through the field until Drake’s truck became stuck in a thicket near the railroad tracks.

Drake got out of the truck and fled on foot before deputies could locate the truck in the thicket. A search of the area was conducted by the sheriff’s office, the Kentucky State Police and the Mayfield Police Department but Drake was not found.

According to the sheriff's office, the female victim was taken to an area hospital emergency room for a number of injuries.
