(CNN) – It’s a tough time for Apple. Sales of the iPad are falling and the company’s share of the tablet market is in a tailspin.
Third quarter iPad sales dropped to $6.3 billion, a 27 percent decline over the last year. Apple’s overall tablet market share has dropped from 60 percent last year to 32 percent.
Experts blame this slump on rivals like Samsung, who have taken advantage of Apple’s lack of updates.
Apple is hoping to turn things around on Tuesday, when it is expected to reveal the first revamped iPad in a year.
But don’t look for too much change. The new iPad is expected to be slightly thinner, faster and include a fingerprint sensor.
