SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

One family from Scott County said they feel the Cardinals have the series in the bag thanks to a little family tradition dating all the way back to 1926.

Leah Faringer said this year, the birth of her second child virtually guarantees a World Series title for the birds.

He's a very bouncy, bubbly baby. Rhett Faringer was born in late-April, right at the start of the season. Leah said when the Cardinals win he will be the eighth baby born into the family in a year when the Cardinals win the series.

It all started with her grandmothers in 1926; mom and dad in 1946; a brother in 1967; Leah in 1982 and the Faringer's son, Seth, in 2011.

The family said they are delighted to have family ties laced into a winning tradition.

"We aren't worried at all, not even after last night," Leah Faringer said. "With Rhett, he's the best good luck charm there is."

"Leah discovered it in her baby book a few years ago," said Daran McDonald, Leah's brother born in 1967. "We love it that our family has that connection to baseball history."
