Man injured after car goes airborne, hits tractor

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Bloomfield man was injured after his car went airborne Friday morning and hit a tractor.

It happened around 9:20 a.m. on US 61, three and a half miles south of Sikeston.

According to the Highway Patrol, Ricky C. Wallace, 51, of Bloomfield was southbound on US 61 when his Ford Taurus ran off the road, hit an embankment, and went airborne before hitting a tractor. The car then overturned.

Wallace received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

The car was totaled.
