NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A 37-year-old man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in south Nashville Tuesday night.

The crash was reported around 9:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Nolensville Pike, just north of Old Hickory Boulevard.

Police say Jesse Jermann was riding his Yamaha and tried to pass a pickup truck that was in the turning lane but failed to move far enough to the right and hit the truck's rear passenger side.

Jermann, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.

Police say there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.
