NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Davidson County woman is facing charges after police say she convinced seven different potential adoption families and/or adoption agencies that she would allow them to adopt her newborn child.

Tiffany Lynne Jordan-Johnson allegedly told each family their arrangement was exclusive and received funds from potential parents and adoption agencies for her rent and living expenses.

Police say the incidents happened between November 2012 and March 2013.

Many of the potential parents bought items and planned baby showers to prepare for the birth of the child, according to investigators.

"Very hurtful, emotional time to go through all of those motions of trying to prepare and it not happen," said TBI spokeswoman Illana Tate.

The child's location is unknown at this time.

Jordan-Johnson was arrested on Monday morning on Hillside Avenue and has been charged with seven felony counts of illegal payments in connection with the placement of a child, six counts of theft, two felony counts of forgery and one count of attempted forgery.

Jordan-Johnson was named to the TBI's Top Ten Most Wanted list on Friday.
