POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

The Poplar Bluff Police Department is currently investigating a strong arm robbery reported at Walmart.

A female suspect was interviewed and released, she not arrested and is not facing charges.

Police are still looking for more information, and to find out who the male suspect is.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Walmart associates say a loss prevention associate approached a shoplifting suspect as he left the store carrying a Walmart item.

When the associate tried to talk to the suspect, the suspect hit the associate and pushed the associate to the ground.

The suspect dropped the item and fled the scene.

According to the press release from the police department, Walmart surveillance video seemed to show a bystander pick up the stolen item and then leave the store with it.

The video is currently being reviewed further.

It is unclear if the suspects were working together.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776.
