Authorities arrested 35-year-old Muuad Abdo Nasser, owner of Tony's Market and Jimmy's Tobacco in La Vergne, and 37-year-old Shirishkumar Hira, the managing member of Comfort Suites in Smyrna.

Nasser was indicted by a grand jury on one felony count of sales tax evasion and one felony count of theft of property over $10,000. Bond has been set at $20,000.

Investigators say Nasser is accused of willfully trying to evade $47,966.58 in sales tax from October 2011 to September 2012.

Hira was indicted by a grand jury on one felony count of sales tax evasion and one felony count of theft of property over $60,000. Bond has been set at $50,000.
