Stray bullet strikes woman in face

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

 A Jackson woman is recovering after being shot in the face when a stray bullet entered her home.

J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green said the unidentified victim was struck around 1:30 Saturday morning inside her town home in the 2500 block of Jamestown Way.

According to investigators, it was the result of the exchange of gunfire down the street. Three men were arrested.

Demario Williams is being charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and felony possession of marijuana.

Jeffery Thomas, possibly in his 40's, is charged with felony possession of marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Lavarisio Ratliff, 24, was taken into custody for accessory after the fact.

Police recovered an assault rifle, two handguns and a large amount of marijuana.

The woman is in fair condition with non-life threatening injuries.
