COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A search was underway Saturday afternoon just outside the Crystal Springs city limits for a missing Louisiana woman.

Copiah County E.O.C. Deputy Director Rick Stevens said dog and grid searches got underway Saturday afternoon for Jeanette DeFrene.

The Copiah Under sheriff, Derrick Cubit, said DeFrene was found by a Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries conservation officer in the woods of Copiah County sitting on a log.

She was reunited with her family and will likely be taken to an area hospital for observation.

The 68-year-old woman from LaFourche Parish, LA wandered off.

Investigators said she is borderline diabetic with heart problems.

The Copiah County Volunteer Fire Department and Copiah County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search.
