CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

You can call her his biggest fan."I am literally the hugest fan possible," said Shelly Hazlett.

Some may call it an obsession. "I have kept up with everything he has ever done," Hazlett said.

But, there's no denying the 28-year-old loves rapper Eminem. "There's nothing else I would play on my cd player ever except for Eminem."

When she learned his childhood home was for sale in Detroit, like a loyal fan, she put in a bid to buy it.

"I even sent a letter to Eminem's manager telling him about it," Hazlett said.

Hazlett says she wants to turn the Detroit house at 9946 Dresden Street into a museum to honor the rapper. She's turned in years of tax statements, mortgage documents and letters to prove to the Michigan Land Bank that she can afford to purchase and remodel the house.

"Every morning, the second I wake up, the first thing I do is go online to check on the house, to see if there's any more bids on it, to see how it's doing, see if I've heard anything back from the Michigan Land Bank. Anything," Hazlett said.

But her dreams nearly came crashing down when she learned the house caught fire Thursday. "I cried," she said. Fire blazed through the top floor of the home, but did not destroy it.

Shelly says her love for Eminem goes beyond the music. She says his personal struggle with drugs and alcohol have helped her in her own fight to stay clean.

"Through his recovery process, I've also been clean for 6 years," Hazlett said. "So, that's awesome for him that's he's also in recovery and has been clean too."

She says despite the fire, she's determined to buy the home that she thinks could be inspiration to others like her.

"My bid is the only one," she said. "If they would let me have it, I would be up there in 9 hours fixing it up."

Hazlett says she is not looking to make money off the home.  She just wants to bring it back to life. She has even put up a $500 reward for anyone with information on the fire.

She says she will know in the next two weeks if she is approved for the house.
