State of the Slate: Industry leaders to talk future of film at Cucalorus event

The future of film will be the topic of conversation at this year's Cucalorus Film Festival. The future of film will be the topic of conversation at this year's Cucalorus Film Festival.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The future of film will be the topic of conversation at this year's Cucalorus Film Festival.

Entertainment Partners will host a special panel discussion during the festival called,  "State of the Slate: The Future of Film in North Carolina."

The discussion will cover production incentives and the resources that have made North Carolina a destination for movies and TV shows.

The panel will be moderated by Joe Chianese, Executive VP of EP Financial Solutions.

Panelists include:

  • Aaron Syrett – Director, NC Film Office

  • Bill Vassar – Executive Vice President, EUE/Screen Gems Studios

  • Dale Williams – Producer, production Supervisor, and currently the Unit Production Manager of Under The Dome

  • Jason Rosin – Business Manager, IATSE Local 491

  • Susan Ruskin – Dean, UNCSA School of Film

The discussion will happen Thurs., November 14, at 4:00 p.m. at Thalian Hall.
