MPD makes arrest in city's 43rd homicide of 2013

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Police say they have arrested 31-year-old Kawasaki Johnson in the shooting death of 34-year-old Anthony Bailey of Greenville.

Johnson was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and charged with one count of capital murder. Following his arrest Johnson was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility where he is being held without bond.

Monday night Montgomery Police officers and paramedics responded to the 1900 block of Hilldale Drive in the Gibbs Village community at 8:38 p.m. and found 34-year-old Anthony Bailey of Greenville suffering from a gunshot wound.

Bailey was transported to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

Bailey's death is Montgomery's 43rd homicide of 2013.
