A victory against Texas A&M very important for Tigers

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Saturday's game in Tiger Stadium between LSU (7-3) and Texas A&M (8-2) is shaping up to be an important game for several reasons.

One reason is there will be a number of recruits watching the game that might very well be swayed by the outcome.

Another is a loss a week before Thanksgiving and the Arkansas season finale might very well lead to a sparse Black Friday crowd.

And finally, LSU needs a victory to claim a spot in a meaningful bowl game.

Where will the Tigers go? Will LSU play Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Nebraska or Duke? Did we just say Duke?

Here's a sample of the good, that bad and the ugly answer to the question, where will LSU go bowling?:

CBS Sports: LSU vs. Oklahoma State (Cotton Bowl)

Scout.com: LSU vs. Duke (Chick-Fil-A Bowl)

ESPN: Mark SchlabachL LSU vs. Oklahoma (Cotton Bowl) and Brad Edwards: LSU vs. Nebraska (Outback Bowl)

Dylan Thompson threw for three touchdowns and No. 24 South Carolina's maligned defense stood strong on a fourth-quarter goal line stand to topple No. 6 Georgia 38-35 on Saturday night.
No. 24 South Carolina's defense showed it's not nearly as bad as it looked two weeks ago - and maybe that No. 6 Georgia isn't the runaway favorite in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division.

Georgia can establish itself as a top-tier beast if it gets by South Carolina this weekend - and USC would drop to 0-2 in the league with a loss. Tennessee travels to Oklahoma, where Coach Bob Stoops doesn't believe the SEC is all-powerful.
