ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) -

Two-hundred new jobs could soon be coming to Enterprise.

The Enterprise City Council approved negotiations Tuesday night with Alabama Aircraft Support for a $12 million project. Enterprise and the company are in the final stages of negotiations. An official announcement is expected to be made in the next few weeks.

The company is expanding and is expected to create 200 jobs with an estimated wage of $24 an hour.

The city will loan $3.5 million of the $12 million and the company will pay the city back over time plus 4 percent interest.

The project means the building of a 60,000-square-foot hanger on airport property. Also included in total cost are several infrastructure improvements. Once the 40-year lease is up, the city will own the property and the hanger.

Alabama Aircraft Support works on civilian and government helicopters.
