The rustic brick building located on Mitcham Avenue, was built in the early 1900's and has been vacant since 2003.

The Industrial Development Board will plan to purchase the building as well as the block for 950 thousand dollars.

The city also passed an ordinance that would allow the Carmike Wynnsong 16 to expand and construct a "Big D" Auditorium in the existing Auburn Theatre.

This new auditorium would combine three existing theatres, adding 225 seats and a wall-to-wall screen measuring 78 feet wide by 35 feet tall.
