LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – There was something strange in a neighborhood: a man, dressed up as a Ghostbuster posing for photos at a school volleyball game. However, what's alarming is that Bryan Patrick Scott, 40, is a convicted sex offender and has been around children for years.

It wasn't until recently Scott was booted from a group that entertains crowds. Scott played the part of the Louisville Ghostbusters until his own group busted him.

"He was with us for almost two years. We're in no way affiliated with him and we cut ties with him once we found out about his criminal record back in July," said Jim Ross, a group member.

The Louisville Ghostbusters is comprised of a group of friends who enjoy going out in the community dressed up like the characters from the 1980s film. They even appeared in the Pegasus Parade this year. The group removed Scott in July 2013 when they discovered his criminal past.

Recently, police charged Scott with failure to comply with sex offender registration. On October 14, Scott allegedly attended a youth volleyball game at Beth Haven Christian School.

"He had brought his car that looks like the Ghostbusters response vehicle, he was in his costume and we have pictures of him with children taking photos inside and outside the property," said Sgt. Jack Jawor of the Louisville metro Police Department's sex crimes unit.

Considering the conditions of his probation conditions, we wanted to know why Scott visited a school. When I questioned him about that, Scott grabbed the microphone and said, "You're being advised to get out of my face."

Scott never answered the question.

"Who's responsible to make sure it doesn't happen again? I suppose that's the courts, the community and law enforcement," Sgt. Jawor said.

The Kentucky Division of Probation and Parole governs activities of those on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. The registry indicates he was convicted of possessing or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
