Salvation Army in Montgomery serves Thanksgiving meal

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Salvation Army in Montgomery provided a hot meal for those who otherwise may not have had one Thursday.

Volunteers had been preparing for the Thanksgiving meal for weeks.

While those who took part in the meal say it was delicious, some say the thing they appreciated the most was fellowship.

"I think it's a blessing because everywhere, on a day like today, people need to be around people that don't have anywhere to go, but they can still feel like a family. I'm glad to see a lot of people that's here to fellowship, you know, be able to sit down and enjoy a meal," Rodney Witaker said.

The meal had all the trimmings -- turkey, dressing, vegetable and red velvet cake.
