BROOKPORT, IL (KFVS) -

In a formal ceremony this week, Woodmen of the World donated $5,000 to the Southern Illinois Community Foundation to benefit the Brookport-Unionville Disaster Relief Fund.

The donation follows a tornado on Nov. 17 that damaged and destroyed property in Massac County and killed three people.

Community members and SICF board members accepted the donation from Woodmen of the World representatives.

In addition, the group also observed a moment of silence for the three local victims of the tornado, Scholitta Burrus, Kathy George and Robert Harmon.
