WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

A restitution hearing was held Tuesday for the man who pleaded guilty to the brutal murder of Elmore County resident Anna Cardwell back in August 2012.

Some $21,000 was seized from a safe inside Josh Caspari's house.

Of that money, $9,845 will go to Cardwell's family. Another $6,000 was withheld to restitution in companion cases.

The rest of the money is to be applied to fines, court costs and attorney's fees.

Caspari was not present for the hearing.

Caspari pleaded guilty to Cardwell's murder just weeks before he was to go to trial. He agreed to a deal that will keep him in prison for the rest of his life without the possibility of parole.
