HAMILTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A crash on Illinois Route 14 at Hamilton County Road 1575E sends one to the hospital on Wednesday, December 4 at 11:01 a.m.

According to Illinois State Police, Alan E. Foran, 38, of Belleville, Ill. was stopped with a 2006 GMC truck on Illinois Route 14, near Hamilton County Road 1575E, and working in a marked construction zone with his hazard lights on. They say Karen D. Miller, 42, of Mt. Vernon, Ill. hit the rear of the truck with her 2005 Toyota Rav 4.

Police say Miller was taken to a McLeansboro hospital by ambulance. They say Foran did not report any injuries, as well as another construction worker, 25-year-old Cole A. Greenfield, who was standing on the running board of the truck and was able to jump off before the crash.

Miller was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
