Arrest made in Crenshaw Co. murder case

CRENSHAW CO., AL (WSFA) -

Authorities are confirming an arrest in a Crenshaw County homicide that happened Wednesday night. Investigators say Vincent Lowe is now charged with one count of murder in the death of 37-year-old Albert Clyde Lee of Highland Home.

Details about Lowe are not immediately known. Neither is a motive.

Investigators say Lee's body was found near his truck on a vacant lot on Highway 97 South in the Davenport community.

Thursday, agents with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation returned to search for more evidence.

A half-mile away on Upper Bozeman Road, Ricky Brothers didn't know anything about Lee except that he moved to the Daveport area about a year-and-a-half ago.

"The only time I'd seen him he rode through here and waved and that was it," said Brothers.

Wendy Arrington heard the shots but at first thought they came from the hunting club nearby. Arrington is still a little shocked that it turned out to be a murder so close to home.

"I never knew anyone lived down there so we never expected anyone to be dead down there," Arrington said.

"And when I heard about it I thought 'Someone got killed?' It happened right here where we stay at and this is dangerous and shocking," said Brothers.

As of now authorities won't say what they think the motive might've been.

At the request of the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Department, ABI has taken over the investigation. Although the agency isn't saying much, the victim was reportedly shot 5 times.
