MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Alabama Power officials say they're preparing to send crews to Texas Thursday to help restore electricity to those affected by a severe winter storm.
Approximately 100 line crew and employees from Alabama will join forces with another 60 contractors. Those heading west will stage in Dallas, officials say.
While Alabama Power says it's sending a crew, it does not believe the deployment will have any impact on its ability to handle weather-related issues if they develop here in Alabama.
