CARBDONALE, IL (KFVS) -

The search for a new SIU president continued on Thursday.

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) held its third meeting on the campus.

The committee discussed input received from the SIUC Community Forum as well as feedback from the previous forum held in Edwardsville.

“The input we have received from the SIUC, SIUE and SIU Medical School Community Forums, as well as the survey distributed earlier to all faculty, staff and students will help the PSAC determine the best characteristics and qualifications the next SIU President should possess,” said Dr. Donna Manering, Chair of the PSAC.

PSAC and the SIU Board of Trustees say they will accept applications until the position is filled.

A final candidate for the position of SIU President expected to be named in April 2014.

Cape Girardeau's Planning and Zoning Board says they have an application for a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market to go in at the site of the old Plaza Gallery on independence.

The council is set to vote on the application at Monday's city council meeting.

An application has been filed for a similar market in Poplar Bluff near the intersection of Shelby and Oak Grove Road.
