HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico Police were out in force in the Pony Farm area Friday night. This comes after at least 5 people were robbed at gun point in the last 24 hours in the same apartment complex.

One of the victims was a father with his toddler by his side. It all happened in the Treehouse and Wood Creek Apartment complex.

"I was shocked when I pulled up," said Ashley Street in reaction to the multiple police cars at the complex.

Ashley just moved in a month ago and was devastated to here a young father walking off Tivoli Circle with his two year old son was one of the victims.

"It's dangerous out here," said Ashley. "I'm scared for the sake of my kids."

We spoke to concerned neighbors who say the apartment complex should increase security measures.

"They have a security booth," said Pastor Gwen Rodriguez. "But there is no security guard in it."

Pastor Rodriguez says she was forced to call the police just a few weeks ago.

"I heard pop, pop, pop," said Rodriguez. "I hit the deck, and I yelled to my kids to get down. It was really scary. I felt like I was in a war zone."

Police are now pounding the pavement after reports that at least one of the robberies turned violent. The victim was repeatedly punched.

"That is correct," said Captain Albert Scott. "Not only are we being reactive, we are also being proactive to make sure everyone is safe…especially during this time of year."

Police say there are looking for two male suspects. The descriptions are vague at this time.
