SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) -

Police have named a second suspect in a shooting and robbery case outside a motel.

Police are looking for Cortez Smith, 22, on warrants of aggravated robbery, Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold said Friday morning.

Smith is wanted in connection with the incident outside the Deerfield Inn on December 20.

Pierre Burns was shot in the parking lot of the motel on Courier Place.

Police previously said they found Burns after a car crash on Sam Ridley Parkway. Friends had been trying to get him to the hospital.

Jeremy Rivers, 26, was charged with especially aggravated robbery a week later. He is due in court January 6.

Police ask anyone with information about Smith's location to call them at 615-459-6644.

The investigation is still open and other arrests are expected, Arnold said.
