(CNN) - New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez has been ordered to sit out the entire 2014 season.
An arbitrator upheld most of the third baseman's original 211-game suspension on doping accusations, reducing the suspension to 162 games and the 2014 postseason.
But a spokesman for Rodriguez says the baseball star isn't done fighting the suspension yet and plans to appeal to a federal court.
Rodriguez has denied allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs.
Major league baseball issued a statement saying it respects the arbitrator's decision.
