JOELTON, TN (WSMV) -

A week after a boulder fell onto Interstate 24 in the middle of rush hour, causing traffic to back up for miles, an even larger rock broke loose from its foundation and landed just outside a Joelton home.

Brenda Evans came home Monday like any other day. She went in her home and didn't think twice about the cliff outside her door until she heard a loud crash.

"It sounded like a train come through," Evans said. "It shook hard enough that it sounded like an earthquake."

Running out to see what it was, she had about the same reaction most anyone would.

"I come out the back door and I started hollering for somebody, and then I saw this down on the ground and I said, 'Oh, my God,'" Evans said.

The good news is the bouncing boulder only took out her rose bushes and garden furniture. Nobody was injured.

The bad news is she's left with several tons of rock to clean up.

An insurance adjuster told her to get estimates. They'll cover the minor damage, but they might not cover the removal.

For now, she's left with a big scare and a big mess.

"It just scared us to death. I thought the Earth was ending," she said, laughing.

Evans joked that anyone who's looking for free rock knows where they can get it. A previous rockslide 11 years ago took Evans' husband a month to break up and haul away.
