CLANTON, AL (WSFA) -

The Chilton County E-911 says service to some residents was affected during Tuesday's severe winter weather because of vandalism.

Someone damaged the emergency system's phone equipment in Calera.

Authorities worked through the day trying to make repairs and finally had the system functioning properly around 5:15 p.m.

There are no known suspects.
