NORMAN, OK (KFOR/CNN) - A French woman is suing the University of Oklahoma over a piece of art. She says Nazis stole paintings from her family in the 1940s and one of the pieces ended up at the university.
The work by Camille Pissaro hangs in the university's art museum. Emily Neff with the Fred Jones, Jr. Museum of Art said, "For Oklahoma to have this collection...for students who go to the University of Oklahoma to have access to this collection...it's pretty special."
The woman suing says the university broke the law by failing the check the title and history of the piece.
She says the university should have researched the piece before hanging it.
