HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police are investigating a shooting that involves Alexander Bradley, the same man who accused former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez of shooting him in the face last year.

Police said they responded to reports of a shooting inside the Vevo Lounge on Meadow Street around 11:15 p.m.

Bradley was shot three times in the leg, and police said that's when Bradley went to his vehicle, grabbed a gun and opened fire at the club.

Police said he then tried to flee the scene, but when police caught up to him he fell out of his vehicle. Bradley was brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Eyewitness News has learned the driver of the fleeing car was Bradley's cousin, who was terminated from the Department of Corrections on Monday.

The motive for the shooting was believed to be money, police said at a press conference Monday night.

Surveillance video released Monday showed patrons running for cover as more than a dozen shots rang out inside the club.

The man who shot Bradley has not been located as of Monday night.

Bradley is suing Hernandez, who said the former tight end shot him at a Florida nightclub. Hernandez is currently in jail after he was accused in the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.

When asked if there are any ties to the Hernandez murder investigation, Hartford police said even if it was, they certainly would not be discussing it with the media.

Bradley was supposed to be arraigned at Hartford Superior Court Monday, but the arraignment was canceled due to a medical reason, police said.
